Compressorhead the Worlds Heaviest Metal Band
Weighing in at a collective weight of over six tonnes, Compressorhead are without doubt the heaviest metal band the world has ever seen.
The Germany based quartet, are currently in rehearsal for their upcoming debut gig at the Big Day Out Festival in Sydney, Australia, supporting headline acts Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the Killers and Vampire Weekend, before setting off on a gruelling tour of the country, taking in the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
The artificial foursome consists of guitarist Fingers, who gets his name from the impressive seventy eight hydraulically activated digits on the end of his mechanical limbs, bassist Bones who is the youngest member of the band and lists Trujillo, Commerford and Chancellor as his influences and finally the unconventional four armed drummer StickBoy bringing an uncanny precision to playing his rather cool fourteen piece pearl drum kit, ably assisted on hi-hat by StickBoy Junior the bastard son of an unknown celebrity mother.
The set-list for the upcoming tour includes not only Motorheads classic anthem the Ace of Spades but also Black Sabbaths Ironman, Blitzkreig Bop by the Ramones and a multitude of classic tracks by rock legends Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, the Clash and a host of others.
Their legion of adoring human fans are affectionately referred to as ‘Meatbags’ by the band, who constantly remind them that oil is definitely thicker than blood.
